English: Northern four-toothed whale, large bottlenosed whale.

FEEDING ECOLOGY AND DIET
Consumes deepwater squid and fish species.
Despite being hunted, copy of Baird’s beaked whales stays poorly recognized. The size of gestation is unclear, with some speculating that it lasts 10 months whereas others assume it lasts 17 months; females could solely produce a calf each three or so years. Males mature earlier than females and apparently reside longer. The mating system is unknown.

SIGNIFICANCE TO HUMANS
The Japanese hunt Baird’s beaked whales off the coasts of Japan and within the western Pacific. Other than this, this species has little significance to people.
