Ahti/Ahto God - Finnish Mythology

Ahti , or Ahto , is the Finnish god of the seas, lakes, and rivers.
Ahti’s palace was hidden inside a black cliff that was perpetually shielded from the outside world, significantly from people, by the waves and clouds. A dismal deity, Ahti was perpetually jealous of the gods of the sky and spent a substantial amount of time brooding as a result of the people prayed to them and never to him.

He may give people fish if it happy him. To punish them for not worshipping him sufficiently, Ahti typically despatched his servants, thewater sprites, to whip up whirlpools as a substitute.
Ahti’s spouse, Vellamo, loved drowning people.
